Poplar pole planting field days

Image showing pole planting on steep hill to manage erosionPoplar and willow are ideal to plant on erosion prone hillsides as their extensive root systems bind and hold the soil in place. Some varieties are also used to provide shade, shelter and wind breaks, and are a good source of stock feed in a drought.
