Waikato Regional Council has received a suite of resource consent applications from Waipā District Council associated with the Te Awamutu Wastewater Treatment Plant at Paterangi Road, Te Awamutu.
The consent applications lodged with Waikato Regional Council are:
AUTH135108.01.01 - Discharge Permit to discharge up to 21,000 cubic metres per day of treated wastewater to the Mangapiko Stream (via a rock filter) from the Te Awamutu Wastewater Treatment Plant.
AUTH135108.02.01 - Discharge Permit to discharge up to 21,000 cubic metres per day of treated wastewater to the Mangapiko Stream (via a rock filter) from the Te Awamutu Wastewater Treatment Plant, as a contingency discharge (during high sewage inflows caused by high rainfall). This discharge may not be as well treated as normal and is estimated to occur on average once every 10 years.
AUTH135108.03.01 - Discharge Permit to discharge treated wastewater (via seepage) to land and groundwater from activities associated with the Te Awamutu Wastewater Treatment Plant.
AUTH135108.04.01 - Discharge Permit to discharge contaminants to air, including odour, from activities associated with the Te Awamutu Wastewater Treatment Plant.
AUTH135108.05.01 - Land Use Consent for the use and maintenance of the rock filter discharge structure within the bed of Mangapiko Stream.
A 35 year term is sought by Waipā District Council for all five applications.

The closing date for submissions on the application is 5pm on 7 March 2018.
Any person may make a submission on the application, but a person who is a trade competitor of the applicant may do so only if that person is directly affected by an effect of the activity to which the application relates that: (a) adversely affects the environment; and (b) does not relate to trade competition or the effects of trade competition.
Your submission must be made in writing, and on the correct form (form 13). You need to then send it to Waikato Regional Council, either
