If you are in an emergency situation that is or may impact people or property please call 111.

Power/gas outages or faults

Contact your local supplier.

Damage to land and property

Contact your insurance company.

EQC (Earthquake Commission) may also provide some cover. To get EQC cover, you need to have a home or contents fire insurance policy with a private insurance company when the natural disaster damage occurred. 

While it may speed up the process if you make a claim quickly, you have three months from the date of the damage to lodge your claim.

Livestock at risk

For livestock hazard issues (such as stock wandering on the road in bleak driving conditions) please call 111.

For general livestock issues in flooded areas, please call Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) 0800 00 8333 and use option 2.

Civil Defence

For local Civil Defence information, contact your respective Council above.

Waikato Civil Defence Emergency Management Group is made up of regional and local agencies. During an emergency these agencies will be busy helping the people who need them most. If you or your property is in danger, call 111.
